Milan Fashion Week 2012 - Prada

The showing of one of the most influential fashion designers – Miuccia Prada – is always awaited with particular impatience. This time, the designer moved away from the playful prints and silhouettes of the 1950-s, which were presented in her spring collection, making geometric and mosaic prints and more strict cuts the predominant ones.
At the beginning of the show, dark colors were predominant on the catwalk. Prada even admitted that she had initially conceived to make the entire collection black. However, at some moment, the designer grew bored with it and decided to turn to bright colors. She used bold geometric prints, decorating the items with massive jewels, used bright color combinations of orange, purple, green, and others.

Almost every image includes cropped trousers, often in a combination with skirts and dresses (Prada suggests wearing multi-layered skirts and kilts over trousers). They evoke associations with the Indian style. Also the collection clearly shows the influence of the military style.

Although Miuccia herself claims that she did not have to be inspired by something specific. She does not want to talk about ideas and influences. The collection is devoted to beauty. Nowadays, every designer has a theory about his/her collection, but it is not for Prada. According to the designer, this collection tells about the pleasure of fashion.

Prada, as usual, pays special attention to accessoires. During the new season, one will be able to find leather bags with geometric appliqués and Mary Jane shoes on a platform decorated with jewels in the brand’s boutiques.

"But if they can't fix whatever is wrong, they're probably not going to change for anybody. You can't change a person, so sometimes you have to move on."

The 'Wizards of Waverley Place' actress explained while she thought her first break-up was "the end of the world", she has since moved on to "better" things.

Selena added: "When I went through my first break-up I thought it was the end of the world. So what did I do? I cried it out, screamed and called my friends in the middle of the night. But that's OK.

"You have to let it be painful and get through it. Just remember that every day gets better."

Uma Thurman is reportedly pregnant with her third child.

The 41-year-old actress - who has 13-year-old daughter Maya and 10-year-old son Levon, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke - is expecting her first kid with her businessman boyfriend Arpad Busson.

A friend of Uma's told Life & Style magazine:

"Yes, Uma is pregnant! She hasn't announced it yet, but a lot of her friends were asking her because they could tell the difference when they saw her at New York Fashion Week. She's usually so skinny, but now she has the cutest little bump and a glow about her."

The couple - who reunited last year following a split in November 2009 - are said to be "excited" about the news, with the baby thought to be due in late summer 2012.

The insider added:

"She's excited. She's happy and just a few months along right now. She's due in late, late summer."

Earlier this year, the blonde beauty - who was also previously married to actor Gary Oldman - revealed she is happier in her love life more than she has been in "many, many years".

She explained:

"I have something I would really like to express about my love life. I'm happier with it now than I've been in many, many years. Yes I'm trying to have as peaceful a personal life as possible."

Naomi Campbell closed the Robert Cavalli autumn/winter 2012-13 show in Milan yesterday (27.02.12).

The supermodel - who is close friends with the designer - took to the catwalk in a maroon sequin halter gown from the collection which featured Cavalli staples including lots of leather and fur.
Other pieces in the collection included maxi fur ballgown skirts with sequin adorned tops and feathered baseball caps, elbow-length gloves and halter dresses with sequins and.

Describing his latest collection as "an Eden of femininity" Roberto kicked off the show by leading his Alsatian dog Lupo around the runway.

Giorgio Armani also showcased his latest designs on the final day of Milan Fashion Week yesterday with a "tailored" collection of long jackets, slim pants and shorts.

Meanwhile, Christopher Kane's Versus for Versace was inspired by both the north London area of Camden and Donatella Versace herself ,according to the designer.

He said: "It's very Camden Cyberdog, a very rebellious girl -- very Donatella.

Model Karlie Kloss Makes Catwalk Return in Paris

Karlie Kloss made her catwalk return during Paris Fashion Week yesterday (28.02.12).

The model - who skipped Milan, London and New York Fashion Week this year - took to the runway for Anthony Vaccarello, where she opened the show, and is set to also walk for Christian Dior, Lanvin and Jean Paul Gaultier.

According to Fashionista.com, Karlie had cancelled all Milan, London and New York Fashion Week appearances this year because she had planned to film a commercial in Japan but it fell through allowing her to take part in Paris Fashion Week.

Karlie was joined on the runway by several other top names including Joan Smalls, Anja Rubik and Arizona Muse, while Kanye West was spotted in the front row.
Meanwhile Pauline Hoarau tripped and fell several times in her Giuseppe Zanotti heels during the show before it was closed by Anja in an asymmetric black-and-gold evening gown.

The 'Baby' hitmaker - who is dating Selena Gomez - turned 18 yesterday (02.03.12) but is already looking to the future and says he hopes to have children before he turns 30.

He explained:

"I see myself in 10 years having a family. 28, that's a good time to really have a family because I want to be a young dad. Maybe, [it's a] long time away though. Don't get any ideas, people. It's not happening anytime soon."

Justin also revealed he is looking forward to more independence now he has turned 18, but says his mother Pattie Mallette will not be too pleased with that.

He told MTV News:

"18 requires a lot of responsibilities; moving out requires me to be alone, without my parents. So, legally, I can make any decision I want. My mom's still going to be there, probably, calling me every day. Probably won't be able to get away from her for too long. 18 is going to be fun. I look forward to a lot of touring and a lot of spending time with my fans, so 18 is going to be a great year."
