The historical allusions are easy to guess: Dior’s full skirts, black and white dresses reminiscent of the famous dress by Yves Saint Laurent in Avedon’s photograph “Dovima with Elephants”, or almost a copy of the dress from Borodulin’s SS-2012 collection, which could have never been seen by Stella McCartney… For those, who like discreet outrage, there are dresses with insets of skin color. It is believed to inspire girls to take up water sports, enjoying the ocean and nature. The line for water sports is very feminine, but at the same time it is sporty and youthful. It is distinguished by bright and bold colors and the asymmetrical cut. Such models as Swim Wet Shirt and Swim Board Shorts witness to the fact that the collection destroys the traditional concept of sportswear.

adidas by Stella McCartney SS 2012 collection is full of unconventional solutions. If the cut is a little harsh, it is compensated by the feminine design elements, reflected in the source of inspiration for the entire collection – in the confidence and brightness of the women of the 1990-s. Bright colors are combined with monochrome details, and luxurious polka dot models come side by side with the models in 3D-silhouettes, which give them a unique original form. The highlights of the collection were the new running shoes Running Broadbill adizero with adizero ™ technology and Axyridis Clima with adidas ClimaCool ™ technology.


It is the first time that adidas ClimaCool ™ technology was used in models. ClimaCool ™ allows you to maintain the optimum body temperature during exercise due to ventilation in the key areas of body heat and sweating. The collection for running proved to be very successful: the line presents new light and exquisite materials and harmoniously combines style and sports. All the models for running are characterized by feminine cut, bright vivid colors and look marvelous together with the products from other collections, such as Cycling.


The Studio line was inspired by dancing. These models are perfectly combined with the line for gym yoga, which is based on soft and comfortable fabrics made of organic cotton in natural colors and contrasting with the models in bright and warm shades. The Essentials line was created especially for the girls, who prefer simple and stylish models for sports. It revives the classic models from the previous collections, representing them in the original materials and new colors. In addition to the above mentioned highlights, the collection for the new season will also present the new Golf, Cycling, Weekender lines as well as the Celebrate Great Britain T-shirt.



According to the tradition, the WTA first tennis racket, Caroline Wozniacki, will be the face of the Tennis collection, representing tennis models at the lawn tennis tournaments and the models from the Studio and Running lines in everyday life. The first racket will appear at the Grand Slam tournament in an exquisite lace tennis dress (its main peculiarities are the cut of the dress and the compatibility with miCoach). At the Australian Open tournament, Caroline will have a feminine orange top and a yellow skirt, combining excellent sport characteristics and sophisticated elements of design. The Danish tennis player will start the Wimbledon tournament in an elegant white dress with the floral pattern elements. The image of the tennis player will be complemented by the special version of the legendary tennis shoes adidas Barricade VI, created for adidas by Stella McCartney collection.

Donatella Versace admitted that she had finally had enough confidence to do what she had wanted.

In the new collection, the designer uses leather, mesh, metallized elements, and a bra in the shape of a coffin. High collar, long sleeves, armor-like corsets, shimmering crucifixes that adorn coats, dresses and skirts send us back to the medieval style and the bloody religious wars of that period. At the same time, the collection is still characterized by the corporate chic and the sensuality of Versace.

The new creations of the House correspond to the spirit of the latest collection, created by Gianni Versace, which was also pretty gloomy. Finally, Donatella Versace also ventured to explore the “dark side” of life. It took her 15 years to be able to replicate the spirit of that collection. She admits that the idea of doing it was constantly spinning in her head, but she was not ready, and it was something very personal for her.

The showing of one of the most influential fashion designers – Miuccia Prada – is always awaited with particular impatience. This time, the designer moved away from the playful prints and silhouettes of the 1950-s, which were presented in her spring collection, making geometric and mosaic prints and more strict cuts the predominant ones.
At the beginning of the show, dark colors were predominant on the catwalk. Prada even admitted that she had initially conceived to make the entire collection black. However, at some moment, the designer grew bored with it and decided to turn to bright colors. She used bold geometric prints, decorating the items with massive jewels, used bright color combinations of orange, purple, green, and others.

Almost every image includes cropped trousers, often in a combination with skirts and dresses (Prada suggests wearing multi-layered skirts and kilts over trousers). They evoke associations with the Indian style. Also the collection clearly shows the influence of the military style.

Although Miuccia herself claims that she did not have to be inspired by something specific. She does not want to talk about ideas and influences. The collection is devoted to beauty. Nowadays, every designer has a theory about his/her collection, but it is not for Prada. According to the designer, this collection tells about the pleasure of fashion.

Prada, as usual, pays special attention to accessoires. During the new season, one will be able to find leather bags with geometric appliqués and Mary Jane shoes on a platform decorated with jewels in the brand’s boutiques.

At his show during the New York Fashion Week, Marc Jacobs plunged the audience into the atmosphere of a mysterious fairy forest. The models on the catwalk at once reminded of the fairy-tale characters: the Mad Hatter from “Alice in Wonderland,” Willy Wonka and the characters of the Brothers Grimm
This time, Jacobs made a bid for eclecticism and theatricality. He plays with Victorian and fairy tale motifs, that are disclosed in the ankle boots with huge buckles in the style of old shoes, shortened trousers resembling woman’s knickers by their silhouette, and fancy antique models. The image of the mannequins was repeatedly complemented by huge Edwardian fur hats, as if created for the cold Russian winter!

The coats, made in a variety of color combinations, textures and silhouettes, were the main element in the collection. Wraps made of the wool of Scottish sheep became a real hit, which seemed to have become a fall trend even before the guests left the hall.

Jacobs used a rich variety of materials and textures, including brocade, jacquard, tweed with a shiny thread, larger knitting and fur, as well as shimmering holograms and patchwork techniques. The color scheme of the collection is also very rich, ranging from the noble purple to the bottle-green color.
