Golden Roberto Cavalli Collection SS 2012

Golden Roberto Cavalli Collection SS 2012
Roberto Cavalli Spring-Summer 2012 advertising campaign is distinguished by the luxury, which suits the brand. But this time the developers spent much money inviting the models rather than creating the entourage.

Four stars are posing in trendy gold from Cavalli: Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld. The photographer, Steven Meisel, surely is of the appropriate high level.
The leopard colors must be forgotten. This summer, the metallic trend and bright combinations of gems have been embodied in the dresses that are similar to jewelry. And if the eyes inevitably notice the shoe models, despite the overall splendor and luxury, the shoe collection can truly be called successful (the most important thing is not to confuse Cavalli and McQueen creative heels).

New York Fashion Week 2012 - Marc Jacobs

New York Fashion Week 2012 - Marc Jacobs
At his show during the New York Fashion Week, Marc Jacobs plunged the audience into the atmosphere of a mysterious fairy forest. The models on the catwalk at once reminded of the fairy-tale characters: the Mad Hatter from “Alice in Wonderland,” Willy Wonka and the characters of the Brothers Grimm
This time, Jacobs made a bid for eclecticism and theatricality. He plays with Victorian and fairy tale motifs, that are disclosed in the ankle boots with huge buckles in the style of old shoes, shortened trousers resembling woman’s knickers by their silhouette, and fancy antique models. The image of the mannequins was repeatedly complemented by huge Edwardian fur hats, as if created for the cold Russian winter!

The coats, made in a variety of color combinations, textures and silhouettes, were the main element in the collection. Wraps made of the wool of Scottish sheep became a real hit, which seemed to have become a fall trend even before the guests left the hall.

Jacobs used a rich variety of materials and textures, including brocade, jacquard, tweed with a shiny thread, larger knitting and fur, as well as shimmering holograms and patchwork techniques. The color scheme of the collection is also very rich, ranging from the noble purple to the bottle-green color.

2012 NY Fashion Week - Vera Wang

2012 NY Fashion Week - Vera Wang
Vera Wang sends us to the distant places of the universe next fall. Distinct futuristic motives of the collection were supported by the appropriate soundtrack, reminiscent of the themes from Stanley Kubrick’s movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
Wong’s imagination seems to have exceeded its limits. She feels confident to play with silhouettes, runs bold experiments with a combination of different textures, transparent inserts and geometric prints.

The designer herself says that clothing is a refuge for us. The body is covered with a reliable and at the same time soft armor of… jackets and structure coats. The clothes become increasingly feminine due to transparent fabrics, which allow you to see the skin, and delicate lingerie, which is intended to be noticed.
Wong invites us to find refuge in geometric coats with fur trimming, translucent sweaters and dresses reaching the floor and decorated with crystals.

Book Purses by Olympia Le-Tan

Book Purses by Olympia Le-Tan
There are so many wonderful books, but we do not notice them and spend our days in the Internet. The designer of Olympia Le-Tan used this statement to begin the presentation of the collection during the Fashion Week in Paris.
It is hard to disagree: the abundance of information on the web and the ease of access to it clog iron nails in the coffin of the printing media. Olympia is not the first to draw public attention to the burning problem. However, the way of doing that was very original.
Olympia Le-Tan has been producing “book purses“, or elegant clutch handbags with original embroidered covers. That is why, instead of amusing stories, one can find all women’s stuff inside: cosmetics, a mobile phone and other little things that the owner of the luxury accessory will put there.

In the “library” of such handmade book purses by Olympia Le-Tan, one can find many iconic works, dearly loved by various ladies at different times. Romantic people will get the forever young “Lolita” by Nabokov, the lovers of Gothic romance will be pleased with “Dracula” by Bram Stoker, and perpetual adolescents will have “The Catcher in the Rye”… And the collection is not restricted to only these masterpieces of world literature.

By the way, to become a happy owner of the original accessory is not an easy task. It is not cheap. Since every item is entirely handmade, mass production of such book purses is, of course, improbable. For example, the number of copies of the especially popular “Lolita” is only 16. And the price for the designer clutches is far from affordable: the cost of each purse exceeds one thousand dollars. But one can do little: art has never been cheap.
