Stella McCartney Evening FW-2012-2013

Stella McCartney Evening FW-2012-2013
Skirts in the style of the 1950-s, dresses and prints in the style of the 1960-s, satin silk, lace and hosiery are all included into the evening collection by Stella McCartney for the winter 2012-13 season. The collection pleases with its happy colors and accents (the gold belt will turn any dress into an evening gown!).
The historical allusions are easy to guess: Dior’s full skirts, black and white dresses reminiscent of the famous dress by Yves Saint Laurent in Avedon’s photograph “Dovima with Elephants”, or almost a copy of the dress from Borodulin’s SS-2012 collection, which could have never been seen by Stella McCartney… For those, who like discreet outrage, there are dresses with insets of skin color. Kate Moss tries one of them on in the lookbook.

Zara Spring-Summer 2012 Ad Campaign

Zara Spring-Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
The Zara Spring-Summer 2012 advertising campaign reflects the key trends of the season: metallic, transparency, sunny colors, the return of black, and large prints in the spirit of Givenchy and Marie Katranzou.
It seems that the brand has recovered from the yearlong depression, although not completely. But it can already afford not only fairly attractive photography, but also one of the top models of the season – Saskia de Brau.

By the way, it is the second season in concession that the campaign involves an apparently androgenic model. It is difficult to say how much the image of Saskia de Brau will promote Zara’s sales. There seems to be no better advertising than Zara’s feminine clothing on Kate Middleton. Was it worth it to refer to androgyny again?

Rodarte to Launch a Footwear Collection

Rodarte to Launch a Footwear Collection
The footwear for Rodarte collections had been previously developed by the well-known designers, including Christian Louboutin and Nicholas Kirkwood. However, sisters Laura & Kate Mulleavy, the founders and designers of Rodarte, finally decided to try their hand in the field of fashion footwear.
Just in a few months, from about July to September, a complete Rodarte footwear collection will go on sale. It will include six different models of shoes priced from $995 to $1,500.
Of course, the shoes created by the sisters, have already been evaluated by the numerous fans of the brand: the models, that will be available in a few months, supplemented the Rodarte Fall-Winter 2012-2013 collection, presented a few days ago as part of Fashion Week in New York. The Iris company will be responsible for the production of the collections of Rodarte shoes. The company also collaborates with Marc Jacobs, Chloe, and Jil Sander. Presumably, the future prices for Rodarte shoes will be reduced to $395-$695.

Kendall Jenner in White Sands Australia Swimsuit

Kendall Jenner in White Sands Australia Swimsuit
Kendall Jenner continues to walk her way to the top of the model fame. The next step was the advertising campaign White Sands Australia, for which even one of the Kardashian family had tried on seductive swimsuits and beach swimwear.
The first pictures appeared in the network at the end of the previous year, but the full set has become available only now, thanks to the main character, who posted the pictures in her Twitter.

Kendall’s fans must be delighted, but the critics are not that much concerned with floral prints and retro motifs in the presented swimwear: many of them believe that 16 years is not the best age for such advertising. Here is what Jenner says in response:
“My entire family was very supportive, though my dad was a bit concerned at first … He knows that I am responsible enough that I wouldn’t do anything I wasn’t ready to do, or didn’t want to do …”

Designer Leah Madden explains the choice of the campaign’s main character in such a way:
“As we were casting for the campaign we came across Kendall’s portfolio and loved her softness and strength. She actually made it to the top of our list before we knew her background! Kendall was a delight on set and a natural in front of the camera “.

Having learned that, they could not refuse the girl in her modest request: Kendall took several swimsuits from the shooting – “for the sisters, as a gift.”

It is believed to inspire girls to take up water sports, enjoying the ocean and nature. The line for water sports is very feminine, but at the same time it is sporty and youthful. It is distinguished by bright and bold colors and the asymmetrical cut. Such models as Swim Wet Shirt and Swim Board Shorts witness to the fact that the collection destroys the traditional concept of sportswear.

adidas by Stella McCartney SS 2012 collection is full of unconventional solutions. If the cut is a little harsh, it is compensated by the feminine design elements, reflected in the source of inspiration for the entire collection – in the confidence and brightness of the women of the 1990-s. Bright colors are combined with monochrome details, and luxurious polka dot models come side by side with the models in 3D-silhouettes, which give them a unique original form. The highlights of the collection were the new running shoes Running Broadbill adizero with adizero ™ technology and Axyridis Clima with adidas ClimaCool ™ technology.

The Danish tennis player will start the Wimbledon tournament in an elegant white dress with the floral pattern elements. Gothic Versace Show at Milan Fashion Week 2012

Gothic Versace Show at Milan Fashion Week 2012
The black color, crosses, strict straight silhouettes – these are the main motifs of the new collection by the Versace Fashion House, which undoubtedly will delight the fans of the Gothic style and rock-chic.
Donatella Versace admitted that she had finally had enough confidence to do what she had wanted.

In the new collection, the designer uses leather, mesh, metallized elements, and a bra in the shape of a coffin. High collar, long sleeves, armor-like corsets, shimmering crucifixes that adorn coats, dresses and skirts send us back to the medieval style and the bloody religious wars of that period. At the same time, the collection is still characterized by the corporate chic and the sensuality of Versace.

The new creations of the House correspond to the spirit of the latest collection, created by Gianni Versace, which was also pretty gloomy. Finally, Donatella Versace also ventured to explore the “dark side” of life. It took her 15 years to be able to replicate the spirit of that collection. She admits that the idea of doing it was constantly spinning in her head, but she was not ready, and it was something very personal for her.

However, the result is really worthy. Our applause!
